When Abu Abdullah Salimi was asked what the friends of God are known for, he replied, “Subtelty of expression, pleasant disposition, cheerful countenances, generosity of nature, tolerance, forgiveness of those who beg their pardon, and kindness– regardless of others’ virtue or iniquity– towards all beings.”
